Brief Biography of Dr Graham Gulbransen 

In 2017 Graham started the first medical cannabis service in Aotearoa NZ. Cannabis Care clinic is near St Lukes in Auckland providing special interest consultations for legal medicinal cannabis prescriptions. Problems addressed include chronic pain (including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS)), cancer symptoms, anxiety, chronic insomnia and neurological conditions. Most patients have experienced little benefit or adverse effects from conventional treatment or have been told there are no further treatments. Many report that medicinal cannabis offers symptom relief, improved quality of life and most importantly, restores hope.

Graham was appointed to the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council MRFF – 2020 Medicinal Cannabis Clinical Trials Grant Assessment Committee and is a FRNZCGP. His general practice experience dates from 1983. Much of this work involves assessing and managing addictions and/or chronic pain. Dr Gulbransen was in Grey Lynn, Kingsland and Lincoln Road, but now provides medicinal cannbis consultations at his Cannabis Care Clinic in St Lukes, Auckland.

Graham worked as a Senior Medical Officer at the Auckland Community Alcohol and Drugs Services (CADS) 1996 – 2012, completing his Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine (FAChAM) in 2008. As an Addiction Fellow he manages alcohol and drug withdrawal problems, often with the support of medicinal cannabis.
